« I'm making good progress, but as anyone who goes through chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days, » the princess, often known as Kate, said in a personal message released Friday.
« On those bad days you feel weak and tired and your body needs rest. But on good days, when you feel strong, you want to feel better.
« My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months, » Kate wrote. « On days when I'm feeling better, it's nice to get involved in school life, spend personal time on things that give me energy and positivity, and even start doing a little work from home. »
She said she's hoping to squeeze in a few more engagements over the summer, but admitted she's « not out of the woods yet. »
Kate will travel the mall with her children in a carriage during Trooping the Color on Saturday. She will watch the rest of the parade with her family nearby and is expected to join royals in the balcony.
It represents a significant moment in the princess' recovery, marking her first public appearance since Christmas Day – just weeks before her cancer was diagnosed.
But it does not represent a return to public duties, and as she recovers, any appearance will be taken with medical guidance and subject to modification if necessary.
« I have been blown away by all the messages of support and encouragement over the past two months, » Kate wrote. « It has really made a world of difference to William and me and helped us both through some difficult times. »

Kate first stepped back from public engagements in January, following what Kensington Palace said was surgery for a non-cancerous stomach condition.
In March, amid speculation about his well-being, he revealed in a video message that he had been diagnosed with cancer after surgery.
« My medical team advised that I undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy, » he said in the update, adding that he is in the early stages of that treatment.
The princess' cancer diagnosis shocked the nation, especially as it came so soon after Charles announced that he too had been diagnosed with cancer.
Neither royal has revealed the type of cancer they are being treated for or released details of their progress.
In March, Charles said he was « proud » of his daughter-in-law Catherine, « her courage in speaking the way she did » in sharing her diagnosis.
