A hotel chain has been accused of trying to cash in on next year's Oasis shows by canceling reservations made by customers before the reunion tour was announced.
Lily Stroud, from Newcastle, said she « took a risk » by booking rooms at Manchester's Maldron Hotel for two weekends in July 2025 after speculation about the band's visit.
But due to a « technical error », after the tour announcement, the hotel chain canceled his bookings as the same rooms were now listed as unavailable.
A spokesman for the Maldron Hotel said it was an « overbooking issue » and not an attempt to « resell rooms at inflated prices » and that all bookings made before August 26 would be honoured.

The hotel said that due to a technical error in reservations made on Monday and Tuesday, « significantly more rooms were booked » than on the dates of the concerts.
The same problem allowed a « small number of customers » to book rooms at higher rates on Tuesday, he said, adding that these bookings would also be cancelled.
The hotel has issued an apology and is not taking new bookings while it investigates the issue.
It comes after Greater Manchester's overnight economic adviser Sacha Lord called on the hotel to « do the right thing » after receiving a number of complaints.
Mr Lord said he had been contacted by a number of disgruntled customers at X, some of whom said the hotel had canceled their bookings and were « now refunding them at three times the price ».
Ms Stroud, who described herself as a « huge » Oasis fan, said she and her mum booked a room in Manchester on Sunday after finding a list of speculative dates for the reunion tour circulating online.
« We thought, if it's a free cancellation, why not, because we know what the demand will be, » he said.
The hotel emailed him and other fans after the tour was announced that the reservations had failed.
The 26-year-old said she called the Maldron Hotel directly and was first told her booking was still in the computer and then it couldn't be found.
« We expected that, » he said, adding that it's « frustrated » as it's stressful enough when you think, 'Are you going to get a ticket?'
George Snape said he was « very angry and disappointed » after his bookings to attend a wedding in Manchester next year were cancelled.
« I think they set the prices for Oasis, » he said.
